The Autumn Storm

Morning froglettes,

Well, it may have been sunny and very warm these last few months BUT the stormy weather finally arrived this week and once it started to rain, it just fell – and fell – and it fell. Frogtastic or what, froglettes!

The day before yesterday, Herring Gull Harry, and I decided to celebrate this momentous occasion by going for a picnic in the pouring rain. We hopped down to the River Minnow, got out our coracle and headed over to Tambalina Castle in the middle of the river.

The Castle is now a ruin and near the main entrance there is a giant slab of stone that has been lying there for years. Herring Gull Harry and I hopped over to it, used the slab as a table and had our picnic. Giant worm sandwiches, mosquito and fly cookies and willow juice – just froglicious.

Afterwards, we played a few games of long-hop in a small lake of a puddle in the middle of the courtyard which was all about who could make the biggest splash landing in the water. It was all frogtastic and muddy especially as we decided to make it a competition of which I won – eventually! Herring Gull Harry was very difficult to beat.

Yours very triumphantly,

E
