“I am the champion, my friends, and I will keep on winning until the end….”

Just a snippet of a song that I keep singing right now much to Herring Gull Harry’s annoyance but then the sight of his very annoyed little face, froglets, just make me want to sing it even more!!!

Well, now that there has finally been some rain, Herring Gull Harry and I have excellent conditions for a spot of our favourite indoor game, Raindrop Racing. The beauty of this particular game is that you can play it on your own or with any number of people you want but all you have to do is sit by a window and pick a raindrop as it lands at the top of the window pane during the storm and follow its journey down the window and the first person whose raindrop reaches the bottom of the window pane wins. So you see – it is as simple as that.

We decided to play the best of five games and I won – 4-1 – I got distracted in the second game otherwise it would have been a clean sweep. Anyway, the loser had to make the winner’s feast – worm sandwiches and pumpkin juice. Now, between us, Herring Gull Harry’s cooking leaves a lot to be desired (as do his skills at Raindrop Racing) but the feast was good and one fact is indisputable – I am the CHAMPION.
