Happy frogmus froglettes,
Frogmus Day at last – December always seems to be such a long month to get through and then Frogmus Day arrives but not only that, it goes by in the blink of an eye!
My best friend, Herring Gull Harry, and I spent today together playing leap frog, eating lots of special worm and fly delights and, for a special treat, we ate a baby turtle. Froglicious.
The best bit about today was, of course, opening our presents only mine was well- different this year. You see, everything I tried to open my present from Herring Gull Harry – well, it hopped. That’s right. The first time that it happened before I could pick up my present, I could not believe my eyes and then when I went to get it, it happened again, and then again and again.
This was all very mysterious and I mentioned it to Herring Gull Harry but he thought that I was imagining it. It got to the point where I was so desperate to open my present that I actually hopped on top of it. That’s right, sounds ridiculous but my present still hopped in the air – with me on top of it. Herring Gull Harry saw this and burst out laughing – he would. He was no help whatsover.
After what seemed like ages and lots of hops later, I finally got to open my present and do you know what it was – a gold box containing two grasshoppers. My pet grasshoppers. I am now sitting on the floor watching them playing and squabbling with each other and trying to think of possible names to call them by but no success so far. Still, they are a great present.
Until next time, happy Frogmus,
E
