Morning all,
With Christmas (or Frogmus as frogs prefer to call it) just seven very exciting days away, I thought now was a very good time to enjoy the festive spirit and make my Christmas card for Herring Gull Harry.
So, I got some different coloured card, sissors, glue and my favourite item, the jar of glitter, and put them on the table. I carefully cut out a frog’s face (what else!) and then I got some red card and cut out a Father Frogmus hat and stuck them both onto white card. I then found a black and red felt tip pens and drew on Herring Gull Harry’s eyes and a smiling mouth.
And then this is my favourite bit. I put blobs of glue all over Herring Gull Harry’s face and opened the jar of glitter and was just starting to gently shake it all over the glue spots when there was suddenly an almighty bang followed by a sudden gust of wind. Well, froglettes, I have to admit that I jumped a mile and the jar of glitter fell out of my hands and, well, the gust of wind blew the glitter everywhere – all over me, the table and chair, the floor except where I really wanted it to go – onto my Frogmus card.
My friend, Teacup, had come to say hello. Looking at the scene in front of her, she looked at me and said, “hello Errol, I’m so sorry, but it is blowing a gale out there. It took your front door out of my hands. I only popped in to give you your Frogmus present. Are you making some Frogmus cards?”
“Was,” I replied miffed, and then looking at her upset face I added, “look, it doesn’t matter. Harry will just have to have the card as it is. He’ll like no matter if it has glitter on or not.”
Then Teacup laughed. “What are you laughing at?” I said puzzled.
“You are covered in glitter, Errol, and sparkle every time you move. You are well and truly in the Frogmus spirit.”
“Well then, how about a glass of pumpkin juice to celebrate the Frogmus spirit? I said.
“Oh, that would be nice,” Teacup replied.
And so, froglettes, Herring Gull Harry’s card never got the glitter as I had planned, just the blobs of glue while Teacup and I had a very relaxing evening drinking a few glasses of pumpkin juice.
