Splash!

Evening froglets,

Well, can you believe it  – the embarrassment, I’ll never live it down, froglets.  I mean what was my best friend Herring Gull Harry thinking of, the clumsy frog!

There we were, Frogs of Honour in a very special coracle to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Puddlemuddy (a very, very important occasion that is held every year in Marblefish) and we had rehearsed it time and time again and even had to wear special uniforms for the occasion and what does he do?

Well, when we had to raise our oars to salute Admiral Snapfish’s humungous statue, (Herring Gull Harry says) his oar slipped and hit me on my head and before I knew where I was, I lost my balance and – splash, fell into the river.  How embarrassed was I?

Herring Gull Harry says that he was very sorry about accidentally knocking me into the river and thinks that giving me a huge pile of worm sandwiches to eat and a large glass of willow juice will make it all alright but I think (between us) that I am going to make him grovel forever and ever and ever so that I can eat all the worm sandwiches that I want to and it serves him right for being so clumsy with his oar.

From a very wet,

E
